Pirates of the Caribbean - Soundtrack 05 - Swords Crossed

~Prelude~

Several men are walking down a forest road towards a set of Ruins near the edge of the desset. They were payed by a shady figure to kill anyone who dwells there. Payment will be given when the job is done. There are about 20 - 25 of them marching along this road. The pay promised was quite high, so there may be more then Garlom and his 4 men could handle. Rumors tell of many people heading to these Ruins and never being heard from again. Some say that they had a job just like they are on now to take these Ruins, but those are just rumors. The one who payed them told them to take a slip of paper with us, but it was ripped. Not sure what good it would do, but they won't question what they're were payed for. They were about 6 hours march from the Ruins when they saw a man running down the road towards them. No, not a man. He doesn't look older then 18 or 19. He looks terrified. Not that they care about him, but they should find out what he is running from, for they could encounter it, whatever it is. He begins sputtering on, tripping over his own words. They manage to get him to talk slowly. He explains how his family and him were camping about an hour's march up the road and that something attacked them.

~Commentary~

0:00 - 0:37: He starts to explain the creatures in extreme detail, giving all the men a vivid image. The men have surrounded him by now, listening to his story. He explains how these beasts easily tower over a Human and have thick hair that covers their body with a long wolfish tail. In fact, they seem like massive humaniod dogs. These creatures were on fire as well, their eyes glowing a blinding white light.


0:38 - 0:41: Tells them how he saw one rip his brother clean in half with little effort.


0:42 - 0:50: The men begon to show their uneasiness as he continues his tale. Garlom notices their discontent and grunts heavily.

Garlom: Such things do not exist!


0:51 - 0:56: A rustle can be heard in the underbrush somewhere in the forest. The kid looks around in fright. Some of the men do the same.


0:57 - 1:11: The kid begins getting extremely and what seems like overly afraid as the rustleing gradually gets louder as if something is getting closer.

"They're going to kill me! WE'VE GOT TO GET OUT OF HERE! THEY'RE COMING!"

Garlom: Get your wits about you, Boy! Your 'dilusions' are not even real! There is no such thi-


1:12 - 1:15: Something massive leaps from the side of the forest and tackles the boy, plunging them both into the forest on the other side, him screaming as it happens. 4 or 5 men were pushed over by the sheer force of the creature, whatever it was. It was too fast to see but the boy's screams have come to a deadly halt. Most of the men are simplyt watching with wide eyes at the forest edge, paralised with fright.


1:16 - 1:24: The men begin to run around, yelling to others on the road, too arfaid to leave the road itself or wander too far from the others. They are still in complete panic and utter chaos.


1:25 - 1:35: Something lands on the road infront of them, landing with one knee on the ground and it's head bowed. As they all watch in horror, it slowly rises to full height, towering over them all a few feet. Two more land behind this creature. Every thing the boy said was true. Every detail, besides the fire.


1:36 - 1:38: Camera angle shows the tops of the mens' heads and the Creatures looking down at them as they start to stiffen up.


1:39 - 1:41: They suddenly burst into flames, their eyes glowing white while letting out a viscious and deadly howls that sound like roars of the damned.


1:42 - 2:10: The main one picks one of the men up and punches right through the man's mouth, fist bursting out of the back of his neck. The other two leap forward at the men and begin to tear them apart. The rest, including Garlom scatter into the woods. (Most the men are dead by the end of this sequence. Use your imaginations of how that happens )


2:11 - 2:25: Garlom and 2 others rush into a swampish area. They constantly run deeper into it, looking back several times. They don't stop running.


2:26 - 2:30: They see the flickers of flame on the creatures charging at them from in the distence.


2:31 - 2:33: They hide behind a couple trees, hoping that they will not be found.


2:34: A large flaming hand sheers the tree in half, causing it to collapse, and the other men with it. Garlom jumped away just in time but stumbles forward.


2:35 - 2:39: Garlom flips over on his back and starts to desperately get away from the creatures, who are now simply walking towards him while smiling in utter victory. The tallest one grabs his collar with one hand that burns him, while the other prepares to strike.


2:40: A voice from behind the creatures; "ARTUNAS!" It instantly turns its head to see where it came from in prefrial vision.


2:41 - 3:06: It releases Garlom and stands up while stepping back. The other two do the same. Several men, including the kid who was taken by the creatures, emerges from the mist of the swamp.

The Boy: I could have taken them.

A man to the leader's right: Do not be overconfident Riel. They were near platoon strength.

Riel: -Scowls in discorn- Says you, Zantos.

A man, not much older then 'Riel': Both of you! This isn't the time!

Zantos: I agree with Talthorn. -Looks at Garlom-

Talthorn: Westorlas, there. -Pointing at the paper under Garlom's belt-

The leader, obviously 'Westorlas', takes it from his belt. "Good eye. This should complete the note someone's been sending us. Alright. Talthorn, I want you to take Riel and go tell Brom and Erak to secure the area. Vael is scanning for any survivors that the Thrashtars may have missed. -They walk off- Zantos, you're with me."


3:06 - 3:14: The man called 'Westorlas' looks at Garlom and kneels beside him with a face of regret.

Westorlas: I wish there was a way I could just let you go... But i can't afford it. I.... am truly sorry....

He rises to his feet, turns, and begins to walk away. He nods to the creatures he called Thrashtars. The man called 'Zantos' follows him.

The Thrashtars slowly look at Garlom as he looks back in horror. They start to advance.


3:15 - 3:16: Camera instantly goes black.
