The window curves to fit the building's shape, becoming the roof over much of the studio-style pent house. The sun reflects off the countless towers that line the horizon, casting looming shadows upon one another. Clouds rest dozens of stories down, like piles of white snow upon the ground, brightly reflecting the sun in all directions. He sniffs and rubs his nose unconsciously turning back to the blast of electronic music, the waves of people, and the bright neon colors that shine from the ceiling.
These parties Valcar hosted served several purposes; they weren't only an escape from his line of work, but melting pots of potential allies, enemies, and everyone in between. It only took a trained eye to spot one from another. He knew at least third of the people here didn't receive direct invites, or even indirect invites for that matter, but he'd instruct his security droids to let them in anyway. Sometimes the uninvited guests were worth meeting, other times, not so much, but it was all a blur to Valcar, he didn't much care either way. Everyone in the room was, or at least should of been, wearing an electronic wrist band to identify themselves as a party guest, it was really the only rule aside from the obvious ones. Most of the party guests remained on the bottom floor, but a few could be seen resting on the railing of the loft a story above, including several security droids.
Valcar made his way through the crowd toward the back of the apartment. After navigating through the shifting mass of bodies he walked down a short, yet empty hallway, aside from a droid standing at the end, and turned to his left. He ran his wristband across a small keypad next to the door which lights up green and the door slides open. He steps inside a rectangular room with a long meeting table in the center, a hooded, robed-clad figure stands waiting inside.
"You may be seated if you wish" he says as the door shuts behind him, the muffled sound of loud music from the room over can still be heard. He walks to the back of the room, the hooded figure remains standing and follows his movements as he approaches a keypad on the far wall and types in a series of numbers. "I'm not going to waste any time with this" he says as wall panel slides open to reveal a small closet with a man uncomfortably stuffed inside. The man looks dead or unconscious, and slumps outward as the panel opens. "Alive as requested. Do you have the payment?"
The hooded figure looks up, "Here" the figure says in a male voice as he places a credit chit on the table. "You risk too much exchanging the package with this many people here."
"A person is observant, people are blind" Valcar responds. "There are many people looking for this man, and I feel safer moving the package in these circumstances versus having nobody around. Those that actually pay you any attention will assume you are merely escorting a drunk friend. Besides, the number of traffic flowing in and out of this building only increases your cover. Should probably lose the hood though, you're practically asking to be recognized as a force user."
The figure looks up quickly. "That is privileged informat. . ."
Valcar cuts him off, "Spare me. I don't care who you are or who you work for, but I still know despite your secrecy. I got your damn package and that is where my job ends." He grabs the credit chit from the table and pockets it. "Take the back door, I'll have the droids open it for you." He says as he turns back and heads out the door before the figure has time to respond. He walks back out into the crowd and to the window once again. He presses several buttons on his wrist band and the music lowers in volume enough for him to call out to the crowd. "I hope you all are enjoying this party I put on for you!" He eyes the figure moving through the back of the crowd, helping a seemingly passed out man. He continues his distraction, "You are all a pleasure to have, and for that reason, I'll be handing out free invitations for my next party to everyone here, just check your wrist bands for the code, and you're good to go. I promise the next party will only have more food and drinks. Enjoy your night!" He taps his wrist band and the music increases in volume once again as the crowd cheers. He makes his way through the crowd once again and to the bar. He taps a man on the shoulder and points back to the crowd with his thumb as a signal to get out of his chair which he reluctantly does recognizing the host. Valcar then takes the now empty seat and waves his hand at the droid manning the bar, which begins to make him a drink. He rubs his face and messes with one of his piercings as he waits for the bartender to finish pouring. He sits there for a long while occasionally looking back at the party, sipping at his drink, waiting to see where the rest of the night would take him.
